The long-awaited Frostpunk 2 is set to arrive on September 20, 2024, as the successor to the highly praised Frostpunk, released in 2018. The original title, which surpassed 5 million sales, has set high standards for 11 Bit Studios to top with the upcoming sequel. Taking place 30 years after the events of the first game, Frostpunk 2 plunges players deeper into a frozen, post-apocalyptic world where survival involves not only braving the elements but also managing political conflicts and factional disputes.
Once again, players will assume the role of a city leader, tasked with balancing resource management and urban survival in a more intricate environment. The sequel expands upon the original with larger cities, new districts, and an increased focus on political struggles between different groups. For those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, early access was granted starting on September 17, 2024. Initially launching on PC, Frostpunk 2 will see its release on consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, at a later date.
